ML Community Enterprise


We deliver a wide variety of services to meet both the professionally identified needs of the young people, as well as to support co-production and choice of learning in consultation with our youth steering group.

Our interventions and projects include:

  • Sports
  • The arts
  • Accredited learning
  • Therapeutic
  • Professional services.

Our Phoenix Talking Therapy Counselling Service is working with young people who have been victims of crime and also engages active gang members.

The service includes:

  • Weekly one to one therapeutic sessions
  • Drawing on diverse talking, art, music and sport therapies.
  • Assigned key worker support as well as phone consultations during weekends and vulnerable times.

Other programmes/services:

  • The counselling service forms part of our Gang Intervention Work.
  • We work with Young Men & Culture, having guest speakers deliver session on heritage and exploring current issues and feelings in regards to today’s society.
  • The Young Fathers Project collaborates with the parenting forum to deliver programmes and wider learning on the issues and responsibilities of our young men with children of their own.
  • The Young Female’s sessions take place each Wednesday and Friday evening, providing a space for exploration, communication and support of the young women in our communities.
  • Our Music programmes take place weekly in our equipped studio led by accomplished producer and song writer Neville Thomas.
  • Our dedicated and experienced team deliver ongoing Information, Advice and Guidance sessions, with access to further support and mentoring for young people in need.

Our Health and Fitness Sessions provide young people with a forum of exploration and information of the issues surrounding their health and wellbeing, as well as risky behaviour. These include:

  • Sexual Health Information Sessions.
  • Teenage Pregnancy Information Sessions for pregnant young people.
  • Hygiene and Healthy Diet sessions and healthy cooking classes.
  • Risk taking behaviour including drug and alcohol use information.
  • Fully equipped fitness gym, basketball court and 5-a-side football pitch.

We also facilitate a community Parenting Group - exploring local and wider issues and concerns with the parents.

Parents also host Poetry nights for our Young People as a safe forum of communication, trust and relationship building.
