Urban Forest Collective is excited to announce SETH - Supporting Employment and Education Through Horticulture, as part of Autism Awareness month!
Starting in May, this free placement is all about building confidence, skills, and community for autistic young adults through nature-based placements. Young people, not in employment or education have a range of options to choose from to build up their skills and confidence and the support of a specialist coach.
SETH (Supporting Employment and Education Through Horticulture) offers supportive and inclusive work placements in a peaceful, enclosed forest garden setting. Internships will take place one day per week over 12 weeks (4 hours per day), providing meaningful, hands-on experience in horticulture and outdoor learning.
The project will run for 24 weeks in total, with two cohorts of 10 places each. Each intern will be supported by specialist one-to-one coaching to help shape their experience. This coaching will help identify areas of interest, develop new skills, and plan next steps towards further education or employment.
Placements are open to:
We are working in partnership with Resources for Autism, Beyond Autism, and Edible Landscapes.
