Talawa is the UK’s primary Black led touring theatre company.

Our work is informed by the wealth and diversity of the Black British experience, and through that we create outstanding work by cultivating the best in emerging and established Black artists.

We invest in talent, develop audiences and inspire dialogue with and within communities across the UK and internationally.

By doing so, we enrich the cultural life of all.

There are many ways to get involved with Talawa - as a writer, theatre maker, facilitator or creative.

TYPT puts emerging theatre makers aged 18-25 together with established artists to develop their practice, test ideas and produce a brand new piece of theatre in just 4 weeks each summer.

We provide opportunities both offstage and onstage.

Whether you are a stage manager, designer or technician, every element of the TYPT process will be open to you from initial production meetings to script development sessions; from meetings with graphic designers to the get-out.
